Lake St Target

Store Mural

Role

Design. Illustration,

Execution

Following the murder of George Floyd, our Lake Street store was heavily damaged in the midst of civil unrest. as part of a plan to make Lake Street Target a welcoming and safe space for the community. I was chosen as part of eight artist to create a mural that had connection to the community while connecting with a poem that was written from a team member to the East lake street communities.

My mural takes an interpretational look at how the communities throughout south Minneapolis have flourished, prevailed and grown through the years,
and at the resilience of what communities can
accomplish when they come together.
